Frontiersman Buck Knife

This personal project was my first attempt at product modeling and rendering. I used the 124 Frontiersman Knife from the Buck Knives company as my reference. During the modeling stage, I focused on maintaining clean topology while creating details like the insets and separations between the metal and wood. After modeling and texturing, I moved on to lighting the scene using cool tones to accentuate the sharp highlights on the metal and draw more attention to the knives themselves. I used shotgun shell assets from ActionVFX to add more interest to the scene and adjusted their textures in Photoshop to better fit the look I was going for. After rendering, my main goal in compositing was to brighten the luminance values of the knives while darkening the background values using a cryptomatte pass to help further the contrast between the main asset and the background elements.
